Gotherington Gardening Club was formed in October 1962. Initially known as the ‘Gotherington and District Horticultural Society’ it held monthly meetings, Spring and Summer shows with cups awarded as well as social events and garden visits. The name was later changed to ‘Gotherington Gardening Club’ as it was felt this was more in keeping with local garden lovers.

The Club meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month except August in the Village Hall at 8pm. We enjoy a wide range of speakers and demonstrations, not always on specialist gardening subjects. We are interested in all aspects of the natural world and our impact on it, so we have invited speakers from the RSPB, environment agencies, bug hunters etc as well as gardeners, growers and travellers. We still arrange trips to gardens and other related destinations.

New members and visitors are always welcome.

Our 2017 Programme is available here.

In addition to our regular meetings we normally have one or two outings.  This years outings are still being finalised – details will be available here as soon as available.

2012 was our 50th Anniversary Year. We celebrated with a lunch at Hatherley Manor, with 72 attendees including the club’s President and founder member Graham Teale and guest speaker Chris Evans from Dundry Nurseries and the Butterfly Garden.

Some photographs from the Anniversary Lunch can be seen here.
